Title: The Visit
Author: patriciatepes
Fandom: Supernatural
Characters/Pairings: Castiel/Daphne Allen
Length: ~1000
Rating: PG-13
Spoilers: Slight spoilers for up to S9.
Warnings: Sexual encounter not graphical detailed.
A/N: Written for Illustrationspnpairingbingo square, Castiel/Minor!Canon Human and for Illustrationspnspiration bingo square, Extremely Minor Character POV. I hope this qualifies as both! And I am a very busy beaver this Halloween, lol!
Summary: Daphne had waited for him, and one day, he came back to visit.

The Visit

She knew that her husband would return one day. Daphne Allen was a believer, above all else. So she knew, absolutely knew, that her husband would return. And, like a rock in the pit of her stomach, she also knew that he wouldn't be the same man who had left.

It took some time. A couple of years, to be exact, but the man she had helped named Emmanuel did arrive on her doorstep on a sunny Saturday afternoon. He was driving a beige vehicle, a Cadillac. She heard the groan of the door's hinges before she heard the knock on her front door. But her heart swelled. Always a believer, and more often than not, she was always proven right.

The knock sounded, but Daphne's hand was already on the doorknob. She yanked it open and was met by the familiar, missed, shee...

Title: Bad Timing
Author: patriciatepes
Fandom: Supernatural
Characters/Pairings: Sam, Dean, Gnome of Doom!
Length: 850
Rating: PG (for swearing)
Spoilers: Nothing terribly
Warnings: None… bad dancing?
A/N: Written for Illustrationspn_bigpretzel's Halloween Reverse Micro Bang. Hope this came out as funny as it was in my head.  Art by Illustrationcheshirejin
Summary: In a series of dancing deaths, Sam and Dean are brought back to the source, a suspicious garden gnome. But Dean's a big skeptical… at first…

notminegnome

Bad Timing

"It's not the damn gnome, Sammy," Dean said, sighing and rolling his eyes.

Sam mimicked his brother's move, but in an entirely different context. The two Winchesters were standing in the middle of Mrs. Havernish's lavish backyard garden, the Impala parked right on the lawn (much to Mrs. Havernish's dismay). They had been drawn here by a series of strange reports which contained people claiming "odd occurrences" within the yard of Mrs. Havernish. "Odd occurrences" meaning "people randomly dancing" and, in some cases, "to death."

A hunt like any other—okay, maybe not exactly like any other—and Sam and Dean had gone to ...

Title: The Lamb and the Knife
Author: patriciatepes
Fandom: Buffy: the Vampire Slayer
Characters/Pairings: Dawn/Xander
Length: ~3000
Rating: PG-13 (to be safe)
Spoilers: Post S7, with elements borrowed from the comics, but nothing terribly spoiler-y.
Warnings: Character death, torture implications
Prompt: 012. Any Fandom - Any Character(s) - Voluntary zombification.
A/N: Written for both Illustrationzombi_fic_ation and Illustrationhc_bingo square, experiments by evil scientists. And I apologize for the ending. I do. But that's all I had, folks. The title is from a Florence + the Machine song, "Raise It Up."
Summary: We're not going to make it, Dawn. Not both of us. But one of us will make it… and I'm going to make sure it's you.

The Lamb and the Knife

They were locked away, like dogs being kept by a vicious owner. The cages were a bit thicker in their bars, and big enough for Dawn and Xander to sit a little hunched over in, Xander hunched over more than Dawn. They had been on patrol, with some of the trainee slayers, some of the fresher bunch that Willow had found and brought to their castle in Scotland. Through Willow's power of teleportation, she had sent them back to the States, in some random town to patrol some of the town's random cemeteries. Standard procedure,...

tumblr_inline_nc9vhiuahJ1qalcatNothing ficcy or arty here, just a little ranting.  First off, I've got to rant about this person.  And I'm not gonna use a name, and I have to do it here and not on my facebook because too many people would know.  And I feel bad.  Yes, I do.  I'll get to that in a minute.  But, before we get to my full-on rant, I just have to talk a little bit about my writing and the speed-bumps I've hit.  I put each rant under cuts, just in case you wanted to scroll past one or two.

I mentioned this on an earlier post, like with a fic or something, but my laptop died.  It just freakin' died.  I think the motherboard went out.  Which, for the years I've had this thing, I definitely got more than my money's worth out of it.  The freak-out?  I had signed up for a bunch of challenges and guess where all the entrants were?  Yup, on my harddrive.  Okay, well, fine, I had to drop a couple of challenges, but I got an adapter that basically turned my harddrive into an external for the computer I'm on now (borrowed).  But guess what?  Guess, freakin' what?  The data--through some error--randomly transformed into RAW data.  Unreadable without being formatted.  Guess what formatting does?  It deletes everything.  EVERYTHING.  Which is pretty much what is on that drive.  Everything.  But I can save it.  I can download a freeware that will salvage most (most is really what I need, honestly, apparenlty God's way of telling me to clean my damn computer) of my data.  But the computer I'm on has, like, no space.  For real.  It's got a 65 GB harddrive... mine was 134.  Yeah... and only 22 of mine was free at the TOD.  But that's money spent that I didn't want to spend but now I feel like I have to spend.  Argh. ...

Title: Forever
Fandom: Labyrinth
Prompt: Trapped together
Medium: art
Wordcount: N/A
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Summary: For the Illustrationhc_bingo, using the square "trapped together."  The story I image for this one is picking up where the movie leaves off with Jareth trying to regain control over the chaos caused in the Labyrinth when Sarah managed to defeat him.  He truly believes that he has it under control, but doesn't, and Hoggle and company seek out Sarah to help regain their home.  However, instead of starting at the entrance of the Labryinth, when Sarah arrives, she is put directly inside the castle at the center, where only Jareth resides.  She blames him for the trouble, and he blames her, but as she goes to leave, she sees that she can't.  And neither can he.  Both are trapped within the walls of the castle, with no one going in or out.  And they cannot fathom how to get out. (hurt)  While the castle is big, the two of them keep bumping into one another somehow, and gradually grow to seek one another out for the company.  Time passes as those outside are trying to free Sarah, but Sarah and Jareth are beginning to understand one another now.  I image that as the story progresses, the two would even find love (or at least, strong friendship) in this. (comfort)  However, they would eventually get out of the castle when the two realized their feelings. Brush by rubina119.

Title: Hope Is a Thing with Sharp Teeth
Author: Patriciatepes (Patricia de Lioncourt @ FFNET and PatriciaLouise @ TTH)
Fandom: Vampire Hunter D/Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Rating: PG
Summary: Set after Normal, Not. With Buffy's slayer strength still not returned, they find that they have run out of time, and a fight must happen whether she's ready or not…
Disclaimer: I don't own Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Vampire Hunter D. All the characters belong to their respective owners, making no money here.
Word Count: ~1800
A/N:.I'm sure I'll have more in this series, as I know this story isn't the end. Also, I'm using this for my Illustrationhc_bingo square, hostile climate. And yes, the title is inspired by Emily Dickinson.

Hope Is a Thing with Sharp Teeth

Shamans, witches, wizards, and even a few well-dressed trolls later, and Buffy was still sans Slayer strength. Weeks, they had been at this. Buffy was pretty sure she had added it up to at least three months worth of weeks, actually. Now, at least one-thousand miles away from their first shaman in the coastal town of Blue, they had stopped to rest and recharge at a little dusty town called Mite. Buffy stood outside by the hitching post that D's stallion was strapped to. Her hand shielding her eyes from the light of the sun glaring down—which so intense that she was pretty sure that was why there wasn't a speck of greenery anywhere to be seen—she huffed. The horse imitated her, and she grinned. The poor thing was unnamed, according to Left Hand, all because D went through them too fast. Something about ...

Title: Normal, Not
Author: Patriciatepes (Patricia de Lioncourt @ FFNET and PatriciaLouise @ TTH)
Fandom: Vampire Hunter D/Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Buffy Post S7. When the world was going to be in danger, there was only one person that could save it. But for Buffy, that meant more than just giving up a Tuesday afternoon.
Disclaimer: I don't own Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Vampire Hunter D. All the characters belong to their respective owners, making no money here.
Word Count: ~1900
A/N: So, first off, this is totally unrelated to my Vampire Hunter T series that I concluded back in 2012. That being said, this idea came to me and I just had to write it.  Written during August Fic-a-Day 2014.

Normal, Not

She was dreaming. But, in all fairness, maybe she wasn't. After all, was it still considered dreaming if you just relived things that really happened? Because that's what Buffy was doing. She knew she was sleeping—in a way—but it still replayed over and over, the events that led her here.

The coven called Willow, said they'd predicted The End—capital letters and all. Not the end of the world, exactly. But the end of the world as they knew it. Something awful was going to happen, and to top it all off, not a Slayer was to be seen in their vision. Something about that upset Buffy. There were hundreds upon hundreds of Slayers now, thanks to her. But in this vision of a distant, terrible future there were exactly zero Slayers. But that was why the coven had called. They had called to prevent this.

They had spells, and then the rest of the world had technology. Those two things were combined. And then someone had to be chosen. One of the girls had to sacrifice everything to save a world they wouldn't...

Title: Night & Day
Fandom: Star Wars
Prompt: Tyranny/Rebellion
Medium: art
Wordcount: N/A
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Summary: For the Illustrationhc_bingo, using the square "tyranny/rebellion."  Again, this art draws from the canon.  The hurt on both sides.  The tyranny hurting the good people.  The rebellion hurting the empire.  And the comfort of knowing you have a singular purpose, that you can stop it, felt on both sides by Vader and by Leia... and then that awkward moment you realize you're related, and that maybe the apple doesn't fall from the tree, it just falls in different ways.  Glass texture by FantasyStock.

Title: The Key to Success
Author: Patriciatepes (Patricia de Lioncourt FFNET and PatriciaLouise TTH)
Fandom: Supernatural/Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Rating: PG
Summary: Post S7 Buffy, Spoilers for S9 for SPN. When you needed to reestablish your power as King of Hell, and needed power as leverage, there was really only one solution available: the Key.
Disclaimer: I don't own Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Supernatural. All the characters belong to their respective owners, making no money here.
Word Count: ~1600
A/N: Written for my Illustrationspnpairingbingo square, Crowley/Crossover Character. This sounded like just a fun little idea, so I decided to run with it.  I originally posted this as the Day 13 post on August Fic-a-Day, and I honestly can't remember why I didn't transfer it over to this journal immediately.

The Key to Success

When the blindfold came off, Dawn blinked against the dim light. Dim or not, it was still a shock to the system when the previous light level had been none. She shook her head, finding it still a little drowsy from things she couldn't identify. Had she been drugged? Hit over her head? None of those seemed to fit. Her head hurt, but not nearly bad enough for either. It was more like that she felt as if she were the goldfish grown too big for her bowl. Which, as far as feelings were concerned, Dawn figured it was the weirdest one she had had yet. And, it may have been just the teen...

Fandom: Batman: TAS
Prompt: Broken Bones
Medium: art
Wordcount: N/A
Rating: PG-13 (to be safe)
Warnings: Blood and violence depicted in image.
Summary: For the Illustrationhc_bingo, using the square "broken bones."  I'm pulling very much from the canon for the Harley/Joker relationship.  The hurt is very physical here, considering his beatings until (much like he did in Mad Love) Joker ends up breaking some, if not most, of Harley's bones.  She's angry and hurt in more ways than one, swearing (once more) that she'll never go back to him.  Until he apologizes.  A simple rose and "I'm Sorry."  Her pain is wiped away and she is once more cemented in the fact that he loves her (comfort... at least for her.)  Quote is from an episode of Justice League.  Blood texture by wroth at deviantart.

Title: Fire Eternal
Fandom: Supernatural
Prompt: Fire
Medium: art

Warnings: Summary will contain spoilers for the end of Season 9!
Summary: For the Illustrationhc_bingo and Illustrationspnpairingbingo. Dean, after being a demon for a bit, decides that Crowley just isn't cutting it as King of Hell, so he decides to take over.  But, to do so, he needs someone he can trust by his side.  Using magics that he's just learning, he uses the flames of Hell to reforge Meg into life.  At first, she's estatic to be working with Dean against Crowley, but as time goes on and Dean becomes worse than either Crowley, Lilith, or Lucifer, Meg finds her loyality wavering.  Thus, Dean reminds her of the flames.  Yes, they brought her back to life... and they can destroy her again (hurt).  In the end, it's a choice between making the flames life-giving or life-taking, and Meg only takes comfort in one thing, she knows that Dean needs to be stopped (comfort). Title: DisHarmony
Author: Patriciatepes (Patricia de Lioncourt and PatriciaLouise TTH)
Fandom: Supernatural/Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Rating: PG
Summary: Buffy Post-S7, Angel Post S5. SPN S7. While seeing Lucifer, Sam surely thought seeing her again in a dark alley was just a hallucination. But… maybe not…
Disclaimer: I don't own Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Supernatural. All the characters belong to their respective owners, making no money here.
Word Count: ~900
A/N: Saw this on the FFA open pairings on Twisting the Hellmouth and thought, "why not?" Just meant to be a short, "what the…?" funny piece.  This also counts toward my Illustrationspnpairingbingo square, "Sam/Crossover Character."

DisHarmony

"Goddamn it!" Dean cursed, using the barrel of his gun to point off toward a dark, probably deserted alleyway. "I think it went that way!"

"You checking the other way, then?" the younger Winchester asked as Dean trotted off in a 180-different direction.

"Yup," was the only reply he got as Dean got smaller and smaller in his vision.

Sam groaned, rolling his eyes. It was bad enough that he saw Lucifer day in and day out, no matter what he was doing. He could be doing anything from brushing his teeth to… well, doing other things, and there he was: Satan himself, making idle commentary. And now Dean wanted to send him down a creepy alley all by himself. Yeah, that seemed smart....

Title: Wishes Are Horses Today
Author: Patriciatepes (Patricia de Lioncourt FFNET and PatriciaLouise TTH)
Fandom: Star Wars/Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Set pre-series to both Buffy and Star Wars (pre the original trilogy, that is, probably ignoring much of the EU in the process). Palpatine's anger was great, even at a young age. So great, that it reached out across the galaxies to a very particular demon.
Disclaimer: I don't own Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Star Wars. All the characters belong to their respective owners, making no money here.
Word Count: ~900
A/N: Found this pairing, D'Hoffryn and Palpatine, in the FFA and this is what spawned. Also, I'm using this to fill my Illustrationhc_bingo square, abuse. And I was really worried I wouldn't be able to come up with a Star Wars xover this year… glad I was wrong about that.

Wishes Are Horses Today

D'Hoffryn would have never expected this. Not in all his years of existence—and that was quite a long time. No, he primarily operated in the Milky Way galaxy. But this cry of anger… this unfiltered need for vengeance traveled through space. It touched D'Hoffryn as surely as if the person was on Earth, instead of a supremely distance planet known as Naboo. This, D'Hoffryn had to see. For this, he would not reveal himself immediately. He had to see the cause of such anger for himself.

He arrived, hidden from normal sight on...

Fandom: Supernatural/Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Rating: R, to be safe
Summary: Buffy Post S7. Takes place in the A Love like Heaven series. AU version of SPN 9.18 "Meta Fiction." When trying to encourage Castiel to incite a rebellion against him, to be the villain, he makes him an offer that is almost too good to refuse.

Word Count: ~1000
A/N: This idea has been floating around just a tad in my brain. What better time then Fic-a-Day? Also, I'm using this to cover my Wild Card square for Illustrationspnpairingbingo. August Fic-a-day 6.

Bad at Business

When Dick Roman—unquestioned leader of the Leviathan—hesitated in closing the door of his lavish office behind him, it meant something. It meant something big. But he closed it anyway. After all, it was a rule of business, he was sure. Even if you're scared, don't let the other one see you scared. Important. Majorly important to not let the other smell fear. That was true even with the beasts.

So Dick closed the door and plastered the smile he had had to practice after eating most of the actual Roman, and turned toward his visitor—whom he would note was sitting almost too deliberately in his office chair.

The body had changed, quite a bit. Instead of a towering, fearsome monster of a thing, the body was ...

It's Always about Family

With the box of odd items buried successfully in the middle of the dusty place where two dirt roads met, Hank Summers waited. He rubbed his hands together, as if he were cold, which was ridiculous, really. After all, it was November in California. What he found cold, people elsewhere in the world might find quite warm. But then again, he'd been born and raised in the Sunshine State, so he was dressed as if a bitter winter was approaching—thick khaki-colored slacks, a long-sleeved turquoise button-up, and a heavy suit-style jacket over it.

Thankfully, he was not left waiting long. From behind him, the person he awaited called his attention.

"Mr. Summers?" came a posh, English accent.

Hank turned...

A/N: I've missed this pairing, so I decided to revisit it. Also, this covers my Castiel/Crossover Character square for Illustrationspnpairingbingo. August Fic-a-Day Day 1.

Home of Humanity

Castiel had thought he would never get to see her again. After all, Naomi had robbed him of his memory of her after his rescue from Purgatory. He knew this now. This and more now that he was human. It was funny, what the human brain was capable of. All those memories had been locked away from him as an angel, but now that that part of him was gone, they were all accessible again. And the one that saddened him most was her. A world away, they did manage to meet again, but only in dreams.

"It's been a while," was the first thing she had said to them.

They were sitting in a garden. A gorgeous place to rival Eden itself, and she was dressed in a flowing white dress. Her blonde hair was shining in t...

The Price of the Plan

Severus Snape didn't like bowing. Bowing and scraping… the human race was above these things. But, when he arrived at Lord Voldemort's seat in Malfoy Manor, he bowed deep. The Dark Lord smiled, his lipless mouth spreading just like a snake about to consume a rat.

"Ah, Severus…" his wispy voice carried all over the large dining hall.

Severus didn't question why the long table had been temporarily removed, along with its matching chairs. He didn't question why Voldemort sat at the head of the room, in the largest, most ornate chair he could find. This was the biggest room of the house, its flooring done in marble. Its walls were of the finest oak and expertly carved. Voldemort, now that Snape had killed Albus Dumbledore, was an emperor, presiding over his growing empire.
