Review:
Put me firmly in the "loved it with fiery passion" category. The tale of Tam Lin is my favorite faerie tale and putting that together with Hotel California was absolutely brilliant. No wonder Xander doesn't like to talk about that road trip!

Very, very very interesting take on things. I do agree about the fae's propensity for collecting that which they desire/admire. And to be perfectly honest, Hotel California always fucking creeped me out as a song!
Comments from author:
I LOVE 'Hotel California!' Actually, I love pretty much any song that tells a story. Someday I'm gonna do a 'Music of the Night' story - perfect theme-song for a Slayer. The story was a LOT of fun to write, practically poured out of me.

Danke for reviewing and I'm so glad you liked it!

Review of chapter "... For young Tam Lin is there..." from Infinix
Review:
I liked this it turned out well but it feels like it could use a bit more fleshing out especially towards the end. Not much because it does have a nice feel to it but I definitely think it could use a bit more.

Interesting.

I'm not really a fan of song-fic, but this was more that just that. I'm pretty sure there's enough variation in tales of the fae that your permutations are ripples on a tidal wave, and the whole thing works very nicely.

Just one more thought , but what would happen if say either Tam escaped and was on the run and ran into Xander or if Xander got the others to try a rescue attempt for him?

I have used the Hotel California song myself as part of a Ravenloft Scenario
It's another of the realms in it .
Though it was really about on par with storming the gates of hell for the difficulty inherent in doing so for the characters.

Let's face it , hearing that song and thinking about what it means would send any paladin slavering at the bit if they could find a way to get there.

Must say, I love your username, Rogues are the best in RPGs and any sort of fiction.

I've been considering some sort of an epilogue, but for now I think I like the way it sits as a one-shot. Thank you for the enthusiasm and the possible brainstorm though!

Danke

VERY nicely done!

Though it would be interesting if Titania showed up later on in the series 'hunting' for her Xander , her 'white knight'.
Or possiibly more-so if say Oberon showed himself!!
Whether to congratulate Xander or just from curiousity upon him.
Or , for that matter ANY of the court showing up , say like Hercs' relatives in the legendary journeys did.

It would be WONDERFUL if you turned this into either a full multi-chapter story or a series!!

Review:
Interesting concept, even if it is slightly disturbing. I would love to see more along the same vein later in Xander's life. Good work.
Comments from author:
'Disturbing' was my goal, so that is a most wondrous compliment!

I ended up humming the song while I read the story. I loved the way the story mixed the song and the legends of the faerie queen stealing men to worship and adore her.
Comments from author:
Listening to the song always gives me a shivery feeling up and down my spine, glad that I could share that! Maybe next time you hear the song you'll start thinking along creepy fairytale lines like I did!

Danke

Review:
I thought it was a clever take on the traditional legends of fairies kidnapping mortals and an equally clever twist combining the song with the vaguely sinister Hotel California. Enjoyable read.
Comments from author:
:D Thank you! Hotel California is such a wonderful song, the image of fairies dancing just leapt into my head last time I heard it.

Glad you liked it!
