Review of chapter "chapter 2" from jimk

Comment From nedwards

I think the worm hole solved that problem.

Yeah, no that still makes no sense to me.

The ringworld is incredibly thin compared to the whole diameter of ringworld. Seen as you describe it as a ring; it is only 1000 miles thick yet 93 MILLION miles in diameter. For it to be close enough for Hubble to pick up the cosmically minuscule 1000 mile ring thickness it would have to apparently be on the edge of our solar system and the 93 million mile ring would occupy a huge portion of the night sky. The star itself would be huge and the magnified area behind it would have to block out everything behind it.

People would be panicking and it would be front page news, not something easily missed by astronomers

Anyway, not saying it makes your story impossible or really impacts it in any serious manner. I was just saying the method you chose seemed to not be thought through very well at all.

The idea that Hubble has the resolution to spot artifacts the size of Ringworld is ludicrous. At least make it a secret military telescope or something that is for whatever reason higher powered than current technology.

To fight the good ol' fight, never to retreat.
To protect and to serve... and man, I suppose that something so big like the Ring is intelligent. I mean, is quite a big computer =)
Cool end to the series dude, congratulations.
See ya!!!

E.T.A. : You can make a trilogy =)
Comments from author:
Thanks Pal.

The hard question is do I make this a trilogy or do I rest a awhile?

See Ya!

Well, first of all, try to drink decaf, and second, you can always use that new pesky plot rabbit...bunny... thing for the sequel ;).
See ya!!
Comments from author:
Thanks Pal!

Now I've got to make a decision. The Ringworld is suddenly more interesting with it's new found powers of Superconducting Quantum Entanglement.

Considering it's size, the Ringworld may be the source of ALL the magic in the Galaxy!

My decision is, do I keep the story short as originally intended or do I spend an additional 60,000 worlds exploring this new ability.

ARG!

So, Spike is back.
I think he is gonna have quite a little bit of trouble facing Teela and the puppeters.
Cool chapter, see ya!!.
Comments from author:
Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks to Louis Wu, Teela is dead and the kzin is back on his homeworld.

These events happen long after "children of ringworld".

The Puppeters are still freaked out.

So now Spike has to fight to get to the head of the line of the people who want to kill the Buffy-Protector.

Next Up: what you've all been waiting for. A little story I like to call "So how the heck did Buffy get to the RingWorld?"

Wow! I am totally impressed with how logically you have crossed the Buffyverse with Niven's universe. The idea of turning a G class star into an x-ray laser makes me giddy from geekish overload. I'm still not sure how Dawn and Buffy are getting to the Ringworld without hitchhiking on a passing starship, but since Buffy the Protector/Slayer is there, there must be a logical way. I really, really look forward to more of your wonderful story.
Comments from author:
Thanks! The Ringworld meteor defense system is pretty cool.

Now that's how you take care of bussines, with a good ol' Lensman Sunbeam.
Gotta love the clasics!!!.
So, Past Buffy is gonna be the one who send the enemy fleet to the ringworld??.
See ya!!!
Comments from author:
Her S.O.S signal did alert the Puppeteers that the Ringworld existed in the first place. So the answer to your question is yes.

The Puppeteers are part of the solution to fixing the Ringworld.
They brought Teela Brown, a human bred for luck.

Am I wrong or is that the same moon from your dune crossover???.

Cool chapter, see ya!!!.
Comments from author:
Nope. Fist of God is an mountain created when an asteroid hit the ringworld from beneath. The material of the ringworld is so tough it held
until the top of the impact was above the ringworld atmosphere. Hence, a hollow mountain.
