Review of chapter "15. Going Home." from draconis
Review:
.
This was my favorite of your 3 stories to date in this series.

Loved that you occasionally explored writing in the loquacious and highly descriptive/embellishing style found in many old novels. It VERY much added to the ambiance (importantly without overwhelming the reader).

Also liked the creativity of “I shall be pissing napalm on the damned if you want me....”. It seemed so Hellish and vivid. Then to counterpoint that (and other demony things) with Hasseldorf's brief moment of weakness in so splendidly rewarding Amy for her help in stopping the invasion was a nice touch.
Comments from author:
Thank-you I tried to stay true to the original and writing really 'evil' characters is always fun!

I had intended to write a couple more stories for this series but I sorta lost interest as other things came up and I sort of abandoned it as time passed.

Cheers,
D.

Thank YKW that you have nothing to do with this reality,at least in my universe.
I may become a fan of this Demon that saved Amy from a lonely death(sort of).
At least your madness is entertaining. Write more of them please
Comments from author:
I've always thought that the best badies where the ones where you say, "He's got a point y'know!"

That's a lovely ending - happy endings all around, apart from Dawn's conscience and various unfulfilled timelines.
Comments from author:
Well I couldn't have Amy dying alone on Mars.

Guess The Hoff laughter sounds like a thunder, The Sound of Thunder indeed.
At least Amy was sucessful in her mission, and the Hoff was kinda nice giving her that reward.
Timey Wimey balls are headache induccing indeed =P.
Cool fic, any plans for the son of the slayer???.
See ya!!.
Comments from author:
Oh yes don't you worry about the son of the slayer...MAW-HA-HA!

That's what so dangerous about the bad guys (particularly the 'good' ones) they always pay their debts.

Review:
Well done! But time travel stories still make my head hurt. Lol! I really like the idea of Amy destroying the Martians before they had a chance to evolve to intelligence. Bar-b-qued Martian on a stick anyone? Of course there is now the possibility that some astronaut is going to be really shocked someday when they find the remains of a Human being on the surface of Mars. Lol! Your alternate time-line where the French and Germans took advantage of the Martian Invasion actually sounded pretty interesting. Not nice, just interesting as in the old Chinese Curse. I'm sorry to see this story end, but now I get to look forward to your next story. Hint, hint. Lol!

Edit: It suddenly struck me that Amy didn't destroy the Martians by eating them. All it took was her bringing some Terran viruses and even after she finally died, the viruses would have finished off the Martians. And possibly totally collapsed the Martian ecology so today all we have is an almost lifeless Mars. This is a totally horrible thought. Mars invades Earth, Earth counter-invaded Mars. We win. But at what a cost? Amy wiped out an entire planetary ecology! Now I'm all depressed and everything. Lol!
Comments from author:
Thanks, although I like time travel stories I find it difficult to explain what happens in them, if you see what I mean.

Only two more stories left in this series; the last one should really blow your brains!

Your edit is interesting as this is almost exactly how I explained it to myself! It's a bit like Genisis of the Daleks. Shgould the Doctor destroy the Daleks before they have a chance to conquer the universe...I have to say, "KILL! KILL! YIPPEEE! YIPPEE!" to that one. Like shooting Hitler in 1927 or when ever Lady J was going to do it (Dawn Summers and the Angle of Mons).

Anyway, plenty of story idea's still in my head, its finding the time to write them.

Cheers,
DaveT.

Review:
That was definitely a weird story. Great going! Nice to know Dawn can be ruthless for the right reasons... and I wonder how she answered Giles' questions about that spell she used. Must have left out a few unimportant details. And hey--3 million years is probably just getting a decimal point wrong. Though even minus the martians, this is a Mars with a breathable atmosphere & vegetation.... too bad she didn't end up meeting John Carter.
Comments from author:
Chances are she caused an ecological desaster on Mars just by being there. In 3 million years+ when the first Earther's arrive they'd probably have to look real hard to find any evidence.

John Carter is something else I've never read (like Conan), I was reading Wyndham and Cooper in my early teens and missed them.

DaveT.

“I don’t know what you said, old thing,” it was Herbert’s voice coming from next to her ear, “but I think you might have frightened it to death!”
Funniest joke in the year =)!.
So, the martins are feeling kinda sick... pooor little squids... Not =P.
So, if the end of the invasion is near, who is gonna do the clean up, and more importantly, the cover up??.
Cool chapter, see ya!!.
Comments from author:
All your questions soon to be answered...I hope!

Review:
so if all the Martians die on schedule, the big problem is altering reality to restore things, otherwise the loss of life etc is not something that can be hidden from history, not to mention how much it would alter things. London destroyed, probably many other cities in other countries; the survivors getting intact martian war machines & eventually learning how to make them, etc.
Hopefully dawn gets back home at some point?
Comments from author:
...or the world you've been living in is the wrong one! Someone stopped the Martian invasion and upset the 'correct' timeline. Was it Dawn or was it someone else?

Cheers,
DaveT.

As for the Slaughtered Lamb, I'm trying to finish the last story in the series. I've come to the concluesion that the Lamb will have to close its doors.
