Review:
I've been expecting this update, seeing as you updated your other stories recently too. (They were nice too)
This update has been both a pleasurable surprise and a disappointment.
On the one hand, I expected more exiting things of the game to happen. I was curious if Draco would try to introduce 'muggle' coaching strategies into the game (making dives to get free trows, keeper exchanges, goal line technology/magic replay, etc)
And while we had more funny rumors, it is not clear what Draco did to Ginny, or how Pansy experienced at the Gryffindor table

On the other hand, it has more promising build-up. And if you spread it out like this, we'll get to read more fun in total, even if it will take some time. (too bad we can't donate you time)
It was funny how they talk about buying a team. Great dialog as usual.
But does he really have that much money without needing his parents consent. (Do even his parents have that much money?)
Is it a secret strategy to woo Ginny (in other fic Ginny plays Quidditch, not sure about the books )

So in anticipation to the chapter I've been re-reading the entire story to find things that might give you inspiration (really, any excuse to re-read works for me :-P)

From chapter 1
“Rowan and thestral tail hair, Miss Summers- though I should keep the core to yourself, were I you. You will find many are superstitious."
- will they ever find out?

chapter 3
In the earlier chapters you had some of the traditional Slytherins (Carrow’s) choose other houses as political strategy - it would not only shield them, but also introduce their behaviour to other houses. So for instance, force and cunning combined with house loyalty (team spirit) could make Hufflepuff an unusual strong team that year.

Chapter 4
Basilisk? Slytherin used to have a basilisk? Dawn filed that away to ask about later. I think after the match, it's time for some basilisk hunting

Ch6
“So if you were to start studying with your lab partner, they might have to actually get it together on their own?”
Well? Are they? Are they flunking now? Found a new 'study partner' to copy from?

What a fun and entertaining story! I can only imagine how Buffy and the Scoobs would react to all of this match-making. :)

I don't remember what happened to Lucius Malfoy in the books, but I'm stunned that he's not at the least in Azkaban. Draco, yeah, he ultimately helped Harry (I think--I've only read the books once, and that was years ago) but how did Lucius manage to stay a free man? It's the only thing that's bugging me about this story, that doesn't seem to fit.

Otherwise, this is absolutely fantastic! I hope you let Dawn's issues come up soon, too. I'm not sure what the rest of the school actually knows about what happened to her, but I'm doubting there are many details. Imagine how the other Slytherines will react when they find out she was in the trenches, fighting with a friggin sword, against ancient and powerful monsters! Really, thats so Gryffindor they'll probably twitch. Though they'll likely get doing so to help family, cause that's what she was basically doing.

Anyway, great job and I'm looking forward to reading what comes next! A bit more drama please! (Also, I like the idea of Dawn and Blaise, and I'm really curious as to where you're going with the Draco/Ginny flirtation, since you have Ginny with Harry currently. If they break up, who does Harry end up with? Maybe a Slayerette?)

Thanks!

I don't think JKR addressed the fate of Lucius Malfoy in the books. She fast forwarded from the immediate aftermath of the Battle of Hogwarts, in which all 3 Malfoys are sort of awkwardly sitting around not sure what to do, to the Epilogue, where Draco and his wife are seeing their son off on the Hogwarts Express. I'm not sure whether or not I'll be showing at some point how I see the Malfoys' punishment/probation in the post-Voldemort wizarding world playing out, or just have Draco make some comments in passing. (Lucius certainly didn't get off scot-free.) I've got several idea I'm toying around with for what to do next.

Dawn is impressing Draco. She is showing him, that he can STILL follow what his parents are saying about Quidditch and still enjoy the game. She is going to be a great assistant to Draco, who will be the team owner, when Draco does purchase a team.
Comments from author:
Dawn is a delightfully bad influence on Draco. On the bright side, she uses her powers for (mostly) good...

They assume Dawn has a functional self-preservation instinct? They don't know her very well!

Review of chapter "Culture Shock II" from AngusH
Review:
I really enjoyed reading this.

Adding Dawn into the whole thing after the final battle seems to work really well.

The change from sudden death at every moment to worrying about social niceties is a huge one
and watching the changes is really great.

Funny too :-)

Plus you make feel sympathy for various characters who I was never sympathetic towards before.
Comments from author:
Thank you!

I thought Dawn would fit in with post-Battle Hogwarts- everyone's working through their own post-battle trauma. Dawn's is just slightly different than the other students'. And I felt like JKR skipped quite a bit in her jump to the Epilogue. After a civil war is over, people from both sides have to figure out how to function as a society again, and it's not as simple as waving a wand and declaring everything is ok.
