Review of chapter "Holliday Costumes" from raxadian
Well, would be amusing if Xander studied to be a dentist.
Comments from author:
For Xander's purposes, he doesn't need to study. He still has Doc's memories, and a pair of pliers. ;-)

Review of chapter "Holliday Costumes" from BankruptSamurai
Whether it's my intense love of westerns, interest in the way of life in that time period or just the fact that I watched "Tombstone" a week ago on television; this was awesome. While it could've gone any which way with all things considered, I think you did a magnificent job of capturing at least some of Holliday's character. Xander plus menace and the manners of a Southern gentleman?

Oh. Yes. It works so very well. I can safely say that despite the brevity, this is easily my favorite story of yours.
Comments from author:
Thanks for reviewing. It's always nice to learn how much someone like my stories.

And 'Tombstone' was definitely a fantastic movie. Val Kilmer should have gotten an Academy Award nomination, at the least, for that role.

Review of chapter "Holliday Costumes" from SledgeHammer
And it's kinda fitting that Xander stayed with the "armorer of choice" for most of the hisdtorical goods (and bads) of the period - Samuel Colt's Handgun Emporium (then of Hartford, Connecticut). While the Winchesters and Remingtons were the primary *long guns* of the nineteenth century, it was Colt, more than any other brand, which was known for the revolvers (wheelguns) of the period. (What made it all the more unusual, is that most handguns were sold *door to door* - like brushes.)
Comments from author:
Very true. ;-)

Remember: "God made men; Sam Colt made them all equal." ;-)

Review of chapter "Holliday Costumes" from (Past Donor)Snag
Fun stuff, but I think this was more Tombstone the movie rather than Gunfight at the OK Corral.
Comments from author:
Oh, this was definitely based on Val Kilmer's depiction of Doc in Tombstone. I was only referring to the fact that Doc was one of the people who walked away from the fight at the O.K. Corral, and the description a good number of historians used for him.

That movie was entirely too Hollywood-ish in the way it showed that the Earps were really, really, *really* the good guys, and their opponents were scum-of-the-earth Bad Guys (tm). Meh.

As long as Xander didn't retain the tuberculosis...
Comments from author:
Yeah, that would be a downer, wouldn't it? ;-(

And I remember later reading a short story someone her on TTH wrote that dealt with exactly that point.

Review of chapter "Holliday Costumes" from Riniko
That was an excellently written story. The fact that Xander carried through with removing Spike from the picture even after the spell passed makes it even more believable to me. Xander had always showed the will to carry through, it was more the skills and lack of power that stopped him more than anything else. Believe he has more effective skills than the original costume gave him. But, I wonder how the future would play out with these changes. One thing for sure there would be no Judge that would need taking down, not with Spike gone from the picture. What will Dru do without him? Looking forward to reading more of your excellent work.
Comments from author:
Sorry to take so long to get back, but I've been traveling and had limited 'net access.

Thanks for reviewing and letting me know how you felt about the story.

As far as what Dru would do without Spike around, that's a question I currently have no idea how to answer, since my muse doesn't seem to be interested in following up on this story.

I really liked this Alternate-Halloween story. I liked your versions of both Xander and Doc Holliday. I just wish once somebody would write up an A-H story where Cordy turned into her cat costume. Lol!
Comments from author:
That will be happening in one of my other stories. Just can't say which one yet. ;-)
