Wow it doesn't matter if Buffy dies as long as the ones Giles cares or knows about survive. I real hero this Giles, a real hero. NOT
I wonder if he dare to tell that to Buffy's parents, did Hank survived, and little sister. Wonder what they will do to him and the Council. Tell that to those she and her team rescued, the world for that matter.

He thinks that Faith will be next to be called and can do the same. I don't think so.

Hope you'll write some more crossovers independence day/Buffy.

Buffy is right, she is only one girl, and the watcher council does have professional hunters on payroll, right?

I guess the Watcher's Council is more scared about aliens than is attached to tradition.

Review of chapter "What Do You Mean, Oops?" from (Current Donor)Cordyfan
Review:
I've never seen a Buffy/Independence Day crossover and thoroughly enjoyed this one. The Buffy/Giles dynamic, where they never had a chance to grow closer, is very well written and quite convincing. As others have written, this is more like the Wishverse Buffy, albeit that she has supportive family background. A nice take on an effectively toothless Council, unable to act against her owing to both her government ties and also the fact that they've probably lost most of their international influence, given the worldwide chaos and devastation caused by the alien invasion. Would have been nice to see her fighting an alien, though...

Thanks for writing this.

Wow a very apt ending giving giles and the council the metaphorical finger. And they never can put a good slayer down. Goes to show that WC and giles are rotten apples to the core. I do hope theyre caught on their act. It doesnt really sit well with me that giles and his precious council gets away with how they treat Buffy. It was so fortunate that she has loyal and willing brave team mates who wouldnt think twice to join the fray and watch her back. To double cross her like that and discard her to a painful death is the most heinous of crimes for me. Maybe you can write something that would show travers and his ilks comeuppance and giles karma on thinking of sacrificing his slayer? Hes a murderer no diff from the watchers in england as they plotted and offered up buffy so a new malleable slayer can be called. Like giles favored potential faith lehane. Giles resented agent winters because in his opinion buffy was expendable. Never mind that she was one of those who had 'thinned' the alien infestation worldwide. And that she serves the whole wide world literally as her assignments im sure took her and would take her all over the globe than a small town over the hellmouth. She has already said shed be there for apocalypse. And giles seem to forget that. He seemed to abandon his primary duty of supporting the slayer. Oooh if i could juat wring his and travers and the others neck!

Review of chapter "No Victory Dance" from burmafrdnow
Review:
Very different dynamic. Buffy is now used to working with a team. A very competent team. And while Alien fighting is going to be a lot different then Vamp fighting I am also willing to bet she has gotten a lot of weapons training and other training she never got before.

And Merrick will always be her standard for a Watcher: he DIED for her.

So frankly Giles is always going to pale in significance.

And with his leftover indoctrination that slayers are expendable (interesting since he does not seem to treat Willow and company that way-hypocrisy much) He will never be all that to Buffy. Especially since they will not spend much time together.

Really interesting about Faith being there, and not a Slayer.

With no drowning Kendra gets to live. That is of the good.

This also should more clearly show how the Council has failed; if they had bothered to use their resources they could have built teams of highly trained people that using modern weapons and tactics could have worked to control vampires and other demons. But they did not.
Comments from author:
Even when Giles was stated as feeling 'fatherly' toward Buffy in canon he was very adept at lying to both himself and her about whether something was 'for her own good'. (Even if the Cruciamentum hadn't happened, I never quite got over the way he was written off the show in Season Six, not to mention his behavior in Season Seven). So... without even that much of a tie? That's what I was thinking when I wrote him here.

Wondering if the Master is allergic to high intensity UV light? grin
Or if WP grenades going off in his HQ might give him a rash, then there may be some flamethrower napalm in his (brief) future.

I assume that Buffy's carrying non-standard ammo, tho I suspect that multiple hits on a vamps by standard 'ball' 9mm or 12 gauge slugs or 00 shot would slow him down.

Also wondering if Buffy or her team salvaged some alien weapons, ala the SG "zats".
