Review of chapter "The aftermath" from bradsan
Hey Prometeus, didn't they learn you. If you got nothing nice to say just shut it. If you didn't like it don't read it.

I liked it, good writing. Oh and you were right about the Scoobies they didn't learn from their mistakes, but Buffy let it happen and never said anything about it. When you are friends you can call them about their behaviour even if they don't like it and this goes both ways.

good story.

Review of chapter "Prologue" from Prometeus
Buffy's not a team player, she wants to be in charge no matter what, the alpha bitch, and her plans AND speeches suck. She hasn't got a drop of leadership ability, nor command ability, nor strategic sense NOR tactical thinking. She's also always been irresponsible and egotistical - not as much as her "friends" but enough to mark her a basketcase. Kicking her off the team when the game starts really mattering is the Right Thing To Do.

And Spike's obsession with Buffy and his unwillingness to see her flaws in your story is fucking ridiculous. And Out of Character. HE has always been the one who sees.

And in regards to an older story of yours, Joyce was a horrible mother. She just got sainted by the stupid fans because she died. It's horrible, it is!

It's a shame because Buffy: Online is so promising, but your other stories suck and are way out of character.

Review of chapter "The aftermath" from Prometeus
I looked at the last chapter to see if my fears about this story sucking feces through an asshole were justified.

> "Yeah," Dawn said, quiet, despondent. She glanced over at Amanda, before returning her eyes to the chasm that was Sunnydale. "It was us. We didn't believe in her. She couldn't trust us anymore, so she thought she had to do it on her own... Save the world."

Buffy being some kind of victim wronged and misjudged by everyone else? GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK. This is too disgusting, too appalling, ... THERE ARE NO WORDS FOR HOW UTTERLY FUCKING DISGUSTING THIS IS.

You're sainting the woman who decided to BEAT HER LOVER TO DEATH WHEN HE WAS PROTECTING HER. What kind of a fucking moron are you?!
Comments from author:
Check the date. I wrote this a while ago and there's no reason to be upset.

And yeah, I agree, it kind of sucks. The whole thing was kind of centered on that one scene where she ascends and I don't even remember how I came up with that. That said, Buffy going off and doing something stupid or insane on her own? Completely in character. Because they would have lost, if she hadn't.

(The idea that she would actually manage ascension is utterly ridiculous and unbelievable. EDIT: this is mostly due to a greater understanding of ascension as a process now rather than her being "unworthy." She's about the most self-sacrificing character on the show, so if that was the only qualifier then she'd have ascended. Her and an assload of other people.)

There was a betrayal in "Empty Places," but as someone else pointed out (possibly not on this website, I can't recall) it wouldn't have been a betrayal at all (really) if they all packed up and moved into the next available abandoned house, leaving Buffy in her own house.

As for her plans and her tactics... well, she's generally considered the muscle. I'll argue she does have her moments though. I'll point you in the direction of the episode "Helpless" and how she managed to survive that.

And I'd say she's the most responsible one of the lot (barring Giles, and possibly Xander). Buffy does what she has to do and she tends to be a bit of a martyr (sometimes unnecessarily) to the needs of others. If she's a basketcase, then it's because of all the shit she's had to go through. (EDIT: I don't personally understand how she could be all hunky dory with living on Earth after having experienced Heaven. That, more than anything else, should have destroyed her.)

I can't comment on your last line, about her beating her lover to death. I must not have seen that episode. It's been quite some time since I've sat down and watched the later seasons. (I prefer the earlier ones, personally: one through three, after which my interest drops markedly.)

Great story! You do a good job with Buffy in a short amount of time. You also did a good job showing how Xander adn Willow sometimes have trouble understanding what it means to be an adult.

I like this. I'm glad to see fics in which the Scoobie team actually learned from their mistake.

Such an ingenious story idea. I'd love it if you finally wrote the sequel because I'd love to see how it crosses over more with SG-1. :)

Cool story. I would love maybe a sequel where Buffy goes to the dimension of Earth with SG1 in it and maybe meets ascended Daniel there and falls in love? Of course I love Buffy Daniel stories. Or maybe as punishment they send Buffy to a different dimension or something like that. I would love something with just Buffy and SG1 and not any Scoobies or anything. Of course it could be really cool if she managed to save Angel and Spike at the end of Angel (series) I'm curious about where you were going to go next with this.
Comments from author:
Actually, the sequel involved Jack (conveniently a long lost uncle) showing up to take custody of Dawn, who's super depressed. And it involved Giles trying to redeem himself by training Amanda. And it involved Amanda running into Spike. And it involved Willow and Xander trying to bring Buffy back.

Needless to say, while I have the whole thing plotted out, I never got around to writing it.

Wow. You blew Joss’ "Chosen" out of the water, at least in my opinion. All of your characterizations were dead on the money. Great work on the narrative and dialog, as well. And I am SO glad that you didn’t make Kennedy the Slayer. I was so sick of her bitchy, power grubbing, overbearing, petulant, self-centered bullshit by the end of the series that I was hoping Joss had a particularly gruesome fate in store for her, but no joy. Err...okay, Kennedy rant off now.

Great stuff, this! If you do a sequel, it would be interesting to find out what happened to Buffy after she broke the Ancient’s rules of non-interference.
Comments from author:
I'm glad you liked it.

There's more, but I think, for it to work, I'll need to rewrite this whole thing. I want to make it more of a crossover, y'know?

I love what you've done with the Buffy/Spike relationship, using the SG1 version of "Ascension" to bring about what is (to my mind) in some ways a more satisfying conclusion to "Chosen". Thanks for letting Amanda become the Slayer and for not letting the Scoobies off so easy, after the big rejection/betrayal scene. Is there a sequel in the works at all?
Comments from author:
I was actually thinking about re-writing it, reworking it a little so that it fits with "Graveyard Comfort," but the continuation I guess you'd call it, involves three separate story lines: Jack, Joyce, and Dawn's, Xander and Willow's, and Amanda and Spike's.

Thing is, I'm probably the worst procrastinator ever, when it comes to, well, just about anything. Why do today, what you can put off until tomorrow. That's my unofficial credo.

Still, thanks very much for reviewing. I really enjoy hearing when people like my stuff, or even when they don't, so long as it's constructive.

This is an awesome story and I really hope that you continue with it, maybe bring Buffy and Daniel together via Oma pre-season 8, but after Daniel takes human form again. Like when Daniel saw R'yac and Bra'tac on that planet through flashbacks. Put Buffy on some planet that SG-1 goes too and have her square off against one of Anubis' drones and have her injured so that she gets brought back to the SGC, or something like that. You said that you were open to suggestion, I hope that you continue with this story, it is a great story and is very original.
