Yet again you have proven a vertiable master of Xander. I truly enjoyed the tale, also I noticed that intergrated Hellsing: the anime into the end. I liked having Jonathan as Abraham Van Hellsing.

Review of chapter "Xander of Lancaster" from VillageOrchid
Review:
Very interesting. Overall the fights were viceral, but some of the play-by-play action wasn't clear enough. You inferred in some cases where more specific visuals would have made the story stronger. (rather than what the person was generally doing or intending to do). Good job at following the various AU threads of the story as it unfolded.

Thanks for sharing the tale.

Review of chapter "Xander of Lancaster" from Gladius
Review:
Fantastic story: I want more! Tiny quibble, though. The English longbow, while a fantastic weapon, was a difficult weapon to use, requing over a decade of training to weild properly. In adition, it was almost entirely a common weapon: the men who used it were called yew-men (yew being the wood used to make the bow-stave), the origin of the term yeoman, or commoner. A noble (especially a prince) would have little time to train with the bow, concentrating on the sword, shield and lance, all of which took a lot of training to use properly. Hal would probably have relied more on his sword, rather than a common weapon like the bow.

But King Xander the First: I love it!

Review of chapter "Xander of Lancaster" from RosytheCat
Review:
Ha! Funny-funny ending, that.

Anyway, I found it kinda weird that you posted this story when you did, considering I was re-reading my book on historical European royalty and all the crazy stuff they've done, including the Wars of the Roses. Though I'm pretty sure it was Henry IV's son or grandson whose armies Joan d'Arc and her men pummeled.

Thanks for another great story, in all other aspects.

Comments from author:
It was only the fact that Buffy was under the sheet with her friend Willow at the moment of magic that allowed a smoother transition. Henry V was what Xander went as, and Joan went up against the forces of Henry V's infant grandson historically.
