They say opposits attract. What the hell do they know? I was just starting to find out how un-opposite Rhys and I were. Well, it goes like this.

"What do you mean, I'm a sidhe?" Xander stared, flabbergasted at Willow. His flabber was so gasted he needed a new adjective for it. Or maybe a new word all together. 'Agahst? Baffled? Confused? Dumbfounded? Why the hell am I thinking like a thesaurus?' Xander refocused on his Willow-friend, trying to make sense of the babble.

"I was setting up the n-new ward. You know, the-one-to-keep-out non-humans? I followed the instructions, but it failed!! And the only reason it would do that was if-there-were-non-humans-already-here! So I did a revealing spell, and-it-pointed-to-you! Andwhydidn'tyoutellme? Didyouknow?"

"Wills, come on! We've been friends since kindergarten. I didn't know! I didn't have any of the characteristics of being sidhe! I still don't. I just don't understand how I could not know this!"

Willow took a deep breath, realising that she had to be the strong one for a change. Xander was freaking out and he needed her to make sense of this for him. She could do it.

"Well, latent sidhe heritage can be triggered by either violence or sex with another sidhe. Or maybe you're a late bloomer! Adolescene in immortal-esque beings usually starts in their thirties! Or maybe somebody put a spell on-"

"That bitch!" Xander sighed and looked away from Willow's startedld frown, and began explaining as all the pieces started to fall into place. "A while ago, this woman sent me a letter. I thought I was being scammed, or it was a sick joke. I never thought it was for real, or I would have told you, I swear! It said that I was adopted and she claimed to be my biological mother. She found out she was engaged to be married near the end of her pregnancy with me, but no one knew about me. She gave me up. Put a spell of concealment on me. Got married after a five or six year long engagement." Xander took a deep breath, looked away, and dropped the bomb. "The letter was signed, Besaba of the Seelie Court."

Willow fainted.

Xander was Meredith NicEssus's half-brother.
