114 – The Surprise Guest
“Gambit!” Bobby’s voice echoed through the mansion. “There’s a beautiful lady at the door for you!”
Gambit looked up from the bone dry security manual he was reading, a surprised expression on his face. He hadn’t been expecting anyone. Plus, he hadn’t been dating or anything since he’d gotten back in the dimension, so who could it be that Bobby wouldn’t know?
A bit confused and curious, Gambit abandoned the book and stood up. He quickly made his way out of the library and down the hall. He passed the kitchen and peered in. Xander was there, shrunk down to his housecat size and pestering Betsy while she went about the task of preparing a pot roast for cooking. Gambit was fairly sure that Xander was more interested in dinner than the telepath, no matter how pretty she might be.
So, he pulled his head back and kept walking towards the front door. He got there only to find the foyer empty and the door shut. Odd.
Pulling open the door, he peered out front but there wasn’t anyone there either. If this was another one of Bobby’s pranks it was a dumb one and well below his normal standards.
A murmur of voices from the living room caught his attention, so he headed in that direction. When he stepped into the doorway, he saw Methos talking with a young woman with dark hair. Methos was smiling widely and his eyes were sparkling.
Then Methos saw him and turned to wave him in. The woman turned at that and Gambit saw her from the front for the first time.
Her black hair was thick with a soft waving curl to it that hung to mid-back. Her eyes were large and a lovely shade of bright blue and her lips with lush and kissable. Her breasts were overly large and ridiculously perky for their size. Her waist was just as impossibly tiny over hips that flared out into a nicely rounded bottom. Her legs were long and curvy.
The overall package was one of nearly unbearable sex appeal. She had a body that had, literally, been designed to attract men.
“Hello Remy.” Her voice was a husky purr.
Then he was across the room and grabbing her up in his arms and spinning her around in circles.
“Ahhh!” She shrieked through her laughter. “Put me down you big oaf!”
She slapped at his arms and shoulders even as they both laughed loudly in delight. He put her down on her feet, a big stupid smile stretching his face. Then he reached out and grabbed hold of her head and planted a loud smacking kiss on her forehead.
“Gah!” She swatted him away before glaring up at him despite the mischief in her eyes. “I don’t know why I came here. I mean, I totally hate you.”
The lie was easy to hear. It was obvious that she adored him.
“Missed you too, Jake.”
He stood there grinning at her like a fool until Methos cleared his throat lightly to yank him back from his thoughts.
He spun around and wrapped an arm across Jake’s shoulders, walking her over to where Methos stood. “Gotta introduce y’.”
“Jake,” he gestured to Methos. “I’d like y’ t’ meet Methos. Gambit jumped through dimensional portals wit’ him an’ went reality hoppin’. We fought zombies an’ then stayed at a magic castle.”
He gestured to Jake.
“Methos, this is Jake Gavin Jr. also known as Jackie. Gambit an’ Jake time traveled together after breakin’ int’ de castle of one Victor von Doom of Latveria. We saved de collective butts of de T’ieves Guild.”
Methos looked at him oddly, one eyebrow raised. But then he turned to face Jake and his expression melted into a charming smile.
“I’m delighted to meet you, Jake.” Then the smile turned into a smirk. “I’d love to trade stories with you sometime. We can entertain each other with tales of some of the outrageously stupid things that Gambit here has done.”
Gambit had the gall to pretend hurt. “Hey!"
