This story is No. 5 in the series "Marcus's Round Robins". You may wish to read the series introduction and the preceeding stories first.

Summary: Veronica Mars always wanted to be an FBI agent, but wouldn't her criminal record be a small problem? Maybe there's a solution... Drabble to launch new round robin.

All characters are the intellectual property of their respective creators, soulless media corporations, etc.; this story may not be sold or distributed on a profit-making basis. 100-word Veronica Mars drabble, surprise crossover.

Many thanks to James Nicoll, who gave me the idea in discussion of Veronica Mars S3.

Training Program

By Marcus L. Rowland

Dad thought another arrest would kill any chance of joining the FBI. It turns out they sometimes need agents prepared to cut corners. Strictly off the record, deep cover, "disavow all knowledge of your actions," yadda yadda. A few years of that, then they move me to a normal career track.

First step is training; not Quantico, of course, too public - a base in the mountains. Unarmed combat, marksmanship, tradecraft, everything needed to turn me into Agent Mars.

There's only one thing puzzling me; why the hell do they want me to learn about an obscure Italian artist called Rimbaldi?

End.

Afterword: Veronica has been recruited. Now let's have some stories about her life as an unwitting agent of SD6... Any length, any pairing, feel free to introduce more characters from Veronica Mars, Alias, and possibly other crossovers if it seems necessary, but please try to keep it to FR15 or below. And check out my other round robins if you like Dexter, Illyria and The West Wing, Pushing Daisies, or conspiracy theories.
