I Dreamt A Dream

What if this was but a dream,
A fiction though real it seems?
What if life was forever dead,
A dream I made up in my head?
Is life forever void because,
I dreamt a dream that we lived instead?
The shadows of my mind fade,
The light of love brightens the shade.
Pain is just a falsity,
A skewed memory of a lost city.
Is life gone forevermore,
If I cross the threshold of Morpheus' door?
If I lie back and dream again,
Is all reclaimed, sanctity and sin?

The End?
