Dawn was exhausted and excited. In her arms slept a little girl, Jocelyn Ann Summers, her eyes were a steel blue, her hair black. She waited for Sirius to come back with Harry in tow.

The boy’s glasses were slipping down his nose as he attempted to get a closer look. Sirius picked him up and brought him closer.

“Harry,” he said, “this is Jocelyn.”

“She’s so small,” the boy pointed out.

“Yes she is,” Dawn said.

“Nicky Stripe has a little brother,” Harry told them, “he’s responsible for watching out for him.” He scrunched up his face as though thinking something out, “so is Jocelyn my little sister?”

Sirius smiled proudly. “Yes Harry.”

“And I have to help protect her and teach her magic and stuff?”

“Yeah,” Dawn smiled.

“Okay,” he leaned down and whispered to the sleeping baby, “I’ll always be seven years older and stronger than you. And I’ll always be standing right here to protect you and stuff. I’m your big brother.” Then he kissed the top of her head.
