Some of you might have noticed that I had posted this fic before and took it down.
It had a lot of errors and needed some editing. I'm re-posting and splitting it up into chapters since it was a little long before.
Oh don't own Buffy, Highlander, Xena, Hercules the legendary journeys, Knights tale, the Patriot, the adventures of Brisco county Jr, Jack of all trades, the Mummy, old lions, Stargate, or any of the other stories I've borrowed here.
"I like the quiet." states Xander. And the bomb explodes. This causes an odd thing to happen. The hellmouth hiccups. There isn't a better word for it than that. And were Xander Harris was standing there is now empty space. At the same time a floor above Faith similarly vanishes.
Two beings fall through the reality between realities. Faith Lehane and Xander Harris.
The fall through what is perceived as time by us mere mortals, wracked in agonizing pain.
The slayer spirit which had resided in Faith for nearly a year now is ripped from her as the two figures reach a time before the slayer even existed.
Her soul is rent and bleeding by this sudden absence and clutches for the nearest thing it can find to fill it's gaping wound. It finds in Xander what it is seeking. The quickening.
Xander is a preimmortal and his quickening lays in wait to be activated. Faith's unconscious need combined with Xander's own protective nature brings the quickening forward causing Xander to realize his destiny as an immortal. But this isn't all that happens. Xander's quickening suddenly splits and half shoots into Faith.
Memories surge through the two battered newly minted immortals they see each others lives. Tales not to dissimilar to each other.
And suddenly it is over they are once more a part of reality. They decide to celebrate and stay dead for a while.
