His fingers slowed on the keyboard as a small spark of green light caught his eye. Green light wasn't unusual in the city, but a green light taking form three feet above the floor of his living room... that was another story entirely.

Standing up and looking around for something to use as a defense, he ended up looking away as the light flashed brightly before dimming.

Turning toward the location of the flash, he spotted a rather attractive young brunette standing in the middle of his living room.

He watched as she took in her surroundings. "Not the castle," she murmured before her eyes landed on him. They widened momentarily before she relaxed, "Not Caleb."

Feeling the need to exert himself if only a little, Castle nodded and confirmed, "No, I'm not Caleb, whoever he may be. My name is Richard Castle and I'd very much like to know who you are and what you're doing in my living room."

The woman's eyes widened and her mouth dropped open slightly before understanding spread across her face shortly followed by her crossing her arms and stamping her foot. "Darn it!" she exclaimed. "I knew I should have supervised it myself, but no, I had to go settle a dispute between Andrew and Marta."

After a few minutes of her - admittedly amusing - ranting, Castle cleared his throat to gain her attention. "Again, I'd appreciate knowing your name and how you came to be standing in the middle of my living room." He allowed his eyes to slip over to the counter where he'd left his cell phone, just to be sure he could get to it.

Composing herself, the young woman smiled politely and offered, "My name is Dawn. As for how I got here... well... it was a mistake."

Castle's eyebrows rose at this statement.

Looking uncomfortable, the brunette - Dawn - continued. "What do you know about the other side of life?"

"Depends on the context. If you mean criminals - more than I probably should. If you mean alternative lifestyles - as much as I want. If you mean witches, demons, magic and vampires - as little as I can get away with."

Dawn froze at his last statement, eyes wide and filled with surprise. Slowly she relaxed a little and nodded. "Good answers," she admitted, offering a slight smile. "Since you're looking to know as little as possible, I'll keep it simple. I had an emergency transport token which was supposed to take me back to our castle. Unfortunately, whoever did the spell didn't specify what castle to transport me to, so it brought me to the nearest one-"

"Which was me," he finished, an amused smile on his face.

Dawn smiled sheepishly and nodded. "If you'll tell me where we are, I can get where I need to be."

Castle provided the information and shamelessly listened as Dawn pulled out a cell phone and called someone. Completing the call, she smiled at him once more.

"Well, this has been... interesting and somewhat embarrassing, but I'm going to leave now," Dawn offered, heading toward the door.

Castle followed along behind and watched as she disappeared down the hall. Closing and locking the door, he shook his head. "Another day in the life," he murmured, heading for his computer.
