The Strange Agent
I don’t own Buffy: the Vampire Slayer
Daniel Osbourne made Clint uncomfortable. There was something different about SHIELD’s newest agent, but Clint couldn’t tell exactly what it was. It was something about how calm he was about the current situation in New Mexico (about everything
), as if the fact that a hammer had fallen from the sky was something that happened every other day.
Clint has good eyes, and he has learned to notice the little things that most people ignore.
He had seen the glint in the agent’s eyes when he had first set his eyes upon the hammer for the first time, a glint that spoke of a joke that only he would understand. There was also the slight widening of his eyes when he saw the unknown man that had tried to steal the hammer, and Clint suspected that Agent Osbourne knew more than anyone else.
“Interesting day, don’t you think?”
The agent looked at Clint and a small smiled appeared on his face. When the answer came, Clint knew that the smile was also part of another inner joke.
“They always are.”
