The Monster Inside (BtVS/AtS/Hulk)

The monster inside…

It had worked out okay for his cousin Jennifer. The blood transfusion had saved her life.

The fact that his blood was infused with more gamma radiation than was, technically, possible had made the real difference. She probably would have died anyway if it wasn’t for the fact that his blood was the same as…the other guy’s.

That Jennifer had complete control over her change into She-Hulk was the only saving grace that allowed him to sleep at nights.

Now they wanted him to do it again; to save another beautiful young woman from the clutches of death. This time, his half-sister’s daughter.

They wanted him to risk unleashing another Hulk on an unsuspecting world.

He turned his head and looked into the lone brown eye of a young man that seemed older than his actual age, a Fury-esque black leather patch covering the missing eye.

“Please Dr. Banner, you’re Cordelia’s only hope.” The man gestured around the hospital room at all the people gathered there; a tall dark haired man in a shadowy corner, a tall bald black man, a short blonde woman and a petite red haired woman. “We’ve tried medical science and we’ve tried magic. Nothing has worked. Nothing…”

Then he turned his head again and looked down at his comatose niece lying in the hospital bed, her dark hair curling around her lovely face.

“The risk…” he trailed off.

“Is worth it.”

Dr. Banner’s head snapped up and he glared right into that one lone eye.

“You’re asking me to make her into a monster!”

The young man’s face softened for a moment and then Dr. Banner could almost see his determination strengthen.

“I’m asking you to help save her life.”
