Part 9

‘Buffy gets a call from the Hospital about the car accident.’

Cleveland, Ohio- 2006

“Hello.” Buffy answered her phone.

“Is this Buffy Summers?” A feminine voice asked.

“Yes. Who are you?”

“I’m nurse Day. Do you know a Dean Winchester?”

Dean. Dean was in the hospital. She hadn’t seen or talked to him since she died, five years ago. “Yeah. What wrong is he okay?” Buffy questioned

“There was a car crash. Mr. Winchester is in a coma and I’m sorry to say he may not make it.”

Buffy felt her heart stop. She couldn’t lose him. She had lost to many. A car crash, how could she lose him to something so normal? No. Dean is alive she hasn’t lost him. She couldn’t. She wouldn’t.

“Where?” was all she said.

She took the first flight she could get. She was going to she Dean for the first time in five years. Buffy could help but feel nervous. He didn’t know that she was alive. How could she explain, that she had been scared to tell him, that he deserved better then her, she didn’t want to hurt him. She hurts everyone she loves. He would understand. Wouldn’t he? She knew that he would do the same thing. Maybe.

“Hi. I’m here for Dean Winchester.” Buffy said as politely as she could. She had to she him. To see with her own eyes that she hadn’t fully lost him.

“I’m sorry ma’am but Mr. Winchester checked out an hour out.” The nurse told her.

“What do you mean he checked out? I thought he was in a coma?” Buffy was confused. The nurse one the phone said that he might not make it, yet this nurse said that he had just checked out.

The nurse looked away from the computer screen and stared at Buffy. “He woke up. His father past away though, it was all very strange.”

Dean was okay. He was alive that had to count for something. Right? But it didn’t help Buffy feel any better. She wanted to see him. She needed to she him to prove that he was alive. She had missed him by an hour. She was late, just an hour late. And timing is everything.
