Disclaimer: Buffy and Co is owned by Joss Whedon all rights remain with Joss Whedon, Mutant Enemy. Dungeons & Dragons: Forgotten Realms' are owned by Wizards of the Coast. The Original characters are mine.
A/N: I do own James Lea, Louise Royston and Royston family as well as Darial Silverleaf. By the way you can see a cameo of Lea and some of the other members of the Royston family in my partners novel, which has recently been published; Ashlyn - The Land Of The Dragon, by Wendy Perry.
This story ties in with 'A journey through the Realms'. I've had the idea for this story since the 4th season of BTVS. I had intended to use it as part of an rpg but figured it would be more fun to attach it to 'Journey' instead.

He awoke to the sound of trolley wheels bumping along on concrete, the sound causing ripples of pain through his already throbbing head. Once the pain had subsided to a dull throb Xander opened his eyes and immediately regretted it as the sunlight stream in from the large window felt like molten lead being poured into the back of his eyes. He quickly closed his eye again while trying to suppress the scream of agony that issued from his mouth. After several moments the pain simply vanished as if it had never been there, not even the ghost of the pain was left. In fact Xander realised very quickly he felt rather good. Very carefully he opened his eyes again and to his relief no pain lanced through him. As he lay there almost frightened of moving, it occurred to him that he could see everything in the room with far more clarity and in greater detail than he usually could. The sound of a fly flying into the window immediately drew his attention and he looked at it but instead of seeing just the fly, he could see its legs hanging in the air as it flew back into the window. Concentrating on the fly his eye sight zoomed in and he could see the fly's compound eyes as if he was looking at them through an extremely clear magnifying glass. Xander backed up in the bed out of shock, and as he did so the sound of splintering wood came from just behind him, which in turn made him jump.
"Ok, what the hell is happening to me?".
Turning around, he saw the bed's headboard had been both broken and embedded into the wall. Now kneeling on the bed, Xander realised two things at once. Firstly he was naked and secondly a maid had just opened the rooms door and was stepping in carrying an arm full of fresh towels. He quickly grabbed a sheet to cover himself and then turned to the woman.
"Sorry, I'm naked. Could you come back later?"
The maid looked at him and screamed, dropping the pile of towels in the process and then ran away leaving the door wide open.
"Ok, not the response i was expecting, but just my usual...."
At this point he felt a very sharp point stab his tongue. Thoughts flashing across his mind.
"Oh no-no-no, not that!"
Xander raced into the small bathroom and looked into the mirror, to his great relief he still had a reflection, but he also seemed to have two very long and sharp K-nine teeth hanging from his upper jaw and no bumpy forehead.
"What the hell?"
He touched one with his thumb and it pierced his skin, leaving a drop of blood, and a small wound which immediately healed. Dumbfounded he tried again, and the same thing happened.
"Ok, this is seriously weird. What happened to me last night?"
All he could remember, was sitting on Sunnydale beach with a bottle of whiskey that he'd found in his uncle's car, that he had just bought. He'd gone to the beach after having a blazing argument with Buffy about Dead Boy. Sitting there, he had considered opening the bottle and getting drunk, until images of his parents came to mind. When an extremely beautiful woman had walked up to him. She'd asked if he really thought Whiskey was the solution to what was obviously troubling him. The woman had then introduced herself as Louise and asked him if he'd like to get a coffee, and if he wanted she was there to talk to. They left the beach together and had wandered through town, until they had ended up at the Bronze. She'd asked him if he wanted to dance. And that was the last thing he could remember.
Xander Looked back into the mirror but this time his K-nine teeth had shrunk back to normal size.
'Ok what just happened, did i have vamp teeth or didn't I?' he thought to himself.
Looking down at himself he realised that he was still naked. Moving back into the main room he grabbed the sheet he then quickly wrapped it around himself and he went to close the door that the maid had left open. Recovering his clothes from various places around the room, he dressed quickly, and deciding to get out of the hotel and head home to get a change of clothing. Checking his wallet to make sure he still had his road trip money and hadn't been robbed he noticed that the condom he'd started to carry after his one night stand with Faith was still in place. unthinkingly he sat on the bed, the blood draining from his face as he realised that he could have gotten the woman he'd spent the night with pregnant.
"What the hell...?"
Some where else in the multi-verse.
A tall sandy haired man, standing on what looked like a light grey surface of nothing, watched the boy known as Xander and then sighed. Turning to his companion with a pained look on his handsome face, "You just had to Blood-Bond the kid didn't you!" His companion turned to face him.
"well, he is cute, but quite frankly i couldn't just leave him in the not so tender mercies of the 'Powers that Be'. You know as well as I do, they were going to chew him up and spit him out. He'd be lucky if he lasted fifteen years fighting beside the Slayer and quite frankly it would have broken my heart to see such a good kid die just because he wanted to do the right thing and help protect his friends. At least now the powers of stupidity have no jurisdiction over him. They can't even force him away from the Slayer's side."
The man just sighed again, and continued to watch Xander starring into the Mirror. The woman then said
"I also gave him the skills to defend himself and his friends, though i haven't as yet given him a weapon worthy of his new status. I was thinking of hopping over to Asgard and asking Odin if i could borrow one of his weapon smiths for a while."
The man looked sharply at her.
"You will do no such thing, I'm not having Asgardian weaponry running around the Hellmouth, as well you know. Don't think you can trick me into giving the kid a weapon of power either."
Then in a softer tone he continued.
"But your right, he does need a decent weapon."
"I think I'll give him one of your brother's swords. That should do him for a while and give us a chance to see how he responds to the abilities you've given him. And I'd like to see how the timelines react to young Xander."
After a moments thought he summoned a Katana into his hand.
Holding the Katana up, the man poured vast amounts of power into it. Manipulating magical energies into enhancing the sword.
"So what did you do to it?"
"It's now a low grade PSW. I really don't want to give him the full version yet, I'd like to see how he responses to the power you gave him first, before giving him one of the most powerful weapons ever created."
"Oh and guess what, you my dear are going to give it to him and you might consider explaining to the poor lad what you did to him and why."
Re-sheathing the Katana he handed it to the girl.
Xander knew his luck was running true to form and the door had locked on him. Carefully tryig to fit the remains of the door knob back into the hole it came from. He tried again to open the door but it refused to budge and short of breaking the door down he was stuck.
The sound of very light foot steps caught Xander's attention, which he quickly realised that that he shouldn't have been able to hear. The foot steps stopped right outside the door, he then heard the sound of a key entering the lock and turning or rather it was the sound of a key snapping in the lock. "Blast it" came a very sexy and feminine voice, followed by "Xander please could you open the door. I just broke the key in the lock."
