Review of chapter "Chapter One" from Jaylynn
Review:
Interesting start and Im curious how not having the soul curse will effect things.
Comments from author:
Well, it's going to change the basic group dynamics significantly, since Buffy is never tempted with the idea of possibly getting her alleged 'soul mate' back (hoc, ptooie!, he spits), and thus isn't trying not to do what she should do, when it comes to fighting Angelus.

And because of that, Willow doesn't try to utilize that same 'dark magic' (Joss' description, not mine), which means her soul isn't tainted by said dark magic, and she has the possibility of going down an entirely different path, with regard to magic.

"They'll be in place by sundown."

......... Really?!?!?

My, your a mean one, Mr. Wizard. You really are a.... Man with a heart threes sizes too small.

Ya, enough of that. This could be very interesting. I'm assuming that the whole turn into fish monster thing was a completely unexpected side effect since the formula wasn't even supposed to optimize their bodies for swimming?

Fury is gonna be demanding answers soon enough, and I'm going to be quite untested in them. I'm curious for the explanation for why S.H.I.E.L.D is so unaware, and thats a perfect opportunity to explain it.

I Do like SLJ's job of being Nick Fury, and I've never even read one issue of most of the comics. But I'm really liking the image of Eastwood as Fury. It just clicks, if you know what I mean.
Comments from author:
Stop flattering me - you'll make me blush! ;-)

More information will be forthcoming about the serum, and how the S.H.I.E.L.D. techs *think* it differs from Horst Gorscht's √úbermensch formula. Note the emphasis on the word 'think'. ;-)

And as far as why S.H.I.E.L.D is so unaware of what's going on, remember that this is occurring during Season Two, when Mayor Wilkins is running things and preparing for his Ascension. He kept a *very* tight lid on everything going on in town, and did his best to keep Sunnydale and everything associated with it out of sight and on the down-low.

And the original Nick Fury was a 'take charge and lead from the front' type of character, who was in the mold of the iconic honorable man, who did what he needed to do, when he needed to do, but who also didn't try to manipulate people as standard operating principles.

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from sekmarc
Review:
Nice start! I'm looking forward to seeing where you take this. I kind of hope the Fury in your story isn't quite the bastard I've seen in so many other fics. I always end up hating him with a passion.
Comments from author:
The bastard version of Fury is modeled after the Ultimate Marvel version.

That's one reason I'm not using the Samuel L. Jackson version - this version isn't an unprincipled prick.

Review:
This looks like it could be interesting with SHIELD on its way to The Hellmouth, the Soul Curse lost and Xander now with photgraphic reflexs? Wonder how long it will take for Xander to tap into his new ability?

Hope to see more.
Comments from author:
I've already given hints about what's happening to Xander, and I will predict that canon will soon be a very distant memory. ;-)

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from CrystalBlaze
Review:
The fish mutation could have been immature and usually untenable marine parasitic demons' spawn latching onto the physically adaptive bodies of the dosed swimmers. Xander's blood transfusion saved him from that, but the Taskmaster Effect would have been set in by that time.

Vincent: Kadaj is a remnant of Sephiroth. Think of him as a sort of larval form.
Yuffie: Larva? You mean, he's a insect?
Cait Sith/Reeve: Lassie? Shut yer gob!!
--excerpt of a conversation aboard the Shera, during Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.
Comments from author:
The S.H.I.E.L.D. tech noted that the stuff Coach Marin used was a *variation* of the serum S.H.I.E.L.D. was watching for.

More will be explained about that later.

Oh, it is fun imaging Clint Eastwood in the role. Looking forward to seeing how some of the rest of your set up plays out.
Comments from author:
Yeah, once I started trying to visualize the right character with the eyepatch and the cigar, and I thought of Clint, my muse started jumping up and down and yelling, "Him! Him! Him!" ;-)

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from TaraLi
Review:
The only problem I see so far is that the description of the serum's effects by the technician does not include the physical changes experienced by the swim team.
Comments from author:
Well, what the techs have is a sample of Xander's (and possibly some other affected students') blood, and they only identified it as a *variation* of the original formula they're familiar with.

That doesn't mean that they know everything it does. (Which they don't.) They simply have identified it as similar to a formulation which they know was used to try to produce supersoldiers.

That particular question will be addressed in an upcoming chapter. I'm not sure which one, since it depends on how long each chapter runs.

Review:
Xander as Taskmaster? Interesting! He'd still need a shield (no pun intended), a sword and a bow...

Damn, you've managed to start a good DOZEN stories that I'd like to see continued. We're going to have to call HYDRA and have them start warming up the cloning tanks, Grey, as we're going to need at least a gross of you at the keyboards. ^_^

Ed.
Comments from author:
Once you can duplicate someone else's physical abilities (like a cat burglar, for example), acquiring first class equipment really isn't going to be that much of a problem, Ed. ;-)

And I appreciate the kind words. ;-)
