Review of chapter "The Rift to Dagor Dagorath" from HMaxMarius
Review:
Somehow I see this force being far more effective than the high tech ones. I know that the slayers are going to fight among each other to be assigned to the Elvish force.

*imagines the big fight scene at the beginning of 'Fellowship of the Ring' where the armies of elves and men stood against the forces of Sauron.*

Its just too bad that this would predate the Rohirrim! :) (Their ride to the relief of Gondor at Pelenor fields was part of my inspiration for 'Relief at Council House One'.)

Edit: Ah, so the elves are responding from the Undying Lands. Nice... Still say that the Slayers will fight to be assigned alongside them!
Comments from author:
No it's set after the Lord of the Rings. Galadriel has left for the West. But it will be difficult to get Men involved. There is little magic left in the Gondor of four hundred years after the death of Aragorn. ;-) And in LoTR Elrond states that the Last Alliance was but a pitiful handful as compared to the Host of Valinor that threw down Thangorodrim, Fortress of Sauron's Master, Morgoth. These will be Noldor and Vanyarin Cavalry, and thousands upon thousands of Teleri bowmen...

Finrod is Galadriel's older brother. And as some have said, the most powerful of the siblings.

Welcome aboard Vidicon!

I've added you to the 'Battlefront' story author list :)

And WOW! Thank you to EVERYONE who has written a story for my little noodled idea! Please remember, that once you move your groups past their initial contacts with the SGC and ISWC we have the 'Code Ragnarok: Battlefront' story for your units to continue the good fight!
Comments from author:
Thanks... it was good to be here for a bit.

Thanks for reviewing

Review of chapter "Code Ragnarok: From the Frying Pan into the Fire" from HMaxMarius
Review:
Hi AndreaMaine,

Nice. I am assuming that this is an alternate Universe SGC, as things like Icarus Base and the fleet being that large (After-all, Samantha is the Plank-Holder commander of the Hammond... and George is still alive in my concluding story ;) ) are a bit beyond the season 8 setting I selected for the Buffy/SGC Code Ragnarok base universe.

I really like your rolling things into a bigger story and seeing how the Code Ragnarok is going to effect another culture's apocalypse.

hmm

Review of chapter "Code Ragnarok: From On High" from xon
Review:
AndreaMaine bungled a few things with chapter 21, the least of which being that she had Kelly give her name so easily. Even if she's more... emotional... than the rest of the Spartan-II's, that doesn't mean much.

Especially since Cleveland's a warzone and she would've been in full-blown 'professional soldier' mode. At most, she'd have called herself 'Sierra-087' and be referred to as Kelly (or tell her name to someone) only once anytime soon, IF that.

Also, the formatting's kinda wonky and your sentence structure seems to become run-on sentences at some points.

Review of chapter "So...... It's a what, now ??" from (Recent Donor)DeacBlue
Review:
Well, the thing is, you'll find that most of the bigger things, and larger groups, will be mostly ineffective - or they would have been used before. The average rifleman (bulk of Romanova's troops) is nothing but food for 99% of the demons they're likely to face, with no weapon except, maybe, an incendiary grenade, that'll do any damage. The MechWarriors are similarly handicapped, although not as completely.

Good authors bring balance in, so that you don't have, "Well, hi!" thump! "The big bad is dead. Time for mochas!" Often it's by building weaknesses into the protagonists, as I did with "Back to the Beginning"'s Willow, but you can also build up the opposition, as Readsalot did with the Bolos.
Comments from author:
hmm comment: I agree. If you notice in my 'Battlefront' story, the standard army units are being deployed in what the U.S. forces in Korea refer to as 'Speedbump' mode. Their entire role is to stand long enough to enable the deployment of more effective forces or to enable the evacuation of the civilian populace... thus the references to 70+ % casualties to regular units and 100% casualties to National Guard units. On the other hand, specialized units are being deployed to accomplish specific goals and their extra experience (Slayer and SG Teams) are enabling them to be simultaneously more effective while taking lesser casualites (Though the Cleveland Slayers have been effectively wiped out, the Scoobies are now Combat ineffective and the SGC slayers are down 50%).

They had to get there eventually. I think I'll be moving them to the other story pretty soon.

Review of chapter "The Wrath of Mother Russia" from HMaxMarius
Review:
"General O'Neill, Watcher Brainerd."

--------

"Yessir. I have a Premier Romanova here as part of the leading element of a 300k strong force.

--------

"I'll have someone escort her to your office right away sir."

Mark hung up the phone and pushed the intercom. "Sergeant Siler? Could you have a member of SG-10 step into my office?" (10 being October... I figure it's a natural for the Russian SG team)

And welcome to the team Shaithan. I'm adding you to the 'Battlefront' list. I do hope the Premier and O'Neill have a conversation about acceptable use of force ;)

Who's going to inform them that the bulk of that force is simply so much cannon fodder? I guess it's another job for Mark Brainerd. :)

Review of chapter "The Wrath of Mother Russia" from Rich
Review:
300,00 troops ? Atomic howitzers ?? I think the tide just turned. But the use of atomic howitzers against an American city won't go over well, even if it is Cleveland.
Comments from author:
Most of these troops are nothing more than conscripted Cannon Fodder. Sure, they have the numbers, but hardly anyone of the foot soldiers will come back. Hell, the tank troops will take serious losses. And yes, the Reds will have their dear troubles when they try to shell demon clusters with the Howitzers. Namely, the Americans feeling not terribly happy about the fact that low-yield alpha rad and neutronic nukes are used. Also, they will bomb clusters of demons, even if there are friendly people nearby. After all, it's a tactic they have employed in the past several times. Not something the others will be happy about.

Review of chapter "Getting up to Speed" from TheOdinson
Review:
Good so far...question...it may not matter, but has a spot for the Hellmouth been picked...thought about it a while back and figured underneath St. John's Episcopal Church in some catacombs or caves...it's the oldest consecrated building in Cuyahoga county...

Just a thought
Comments from author:
for the story, the most specific reference is 15 miles east of Cleveland proper. I don't know the area to know what that would be near... but considering that Sunnydale was specifically positioned over the Hellmouth by the Mayor I felt it would be consistent with the 'bad vibes' for it not to be directly under Cleveland.
