Review of chapter "Sixteen Happier Endings" from Olympus
Review:
OH. MY. GOD.

Freaking EPIC story:) This has to be one of the best Stargate fics out there. It's one of those stories that you can read over and over again and not get tired of it ... damn near perfect.

The only real thing that I found, er a little bit inaccurate is Jack not bringing a gun to the demon confrontation - although it worked fine the way that you did it, it still would have made more sense for him to bring a gun - spec ops trained as he is.

And I really liked the way that Jack and the others reacted to magic and demons being real - spot on. Had to laugh at their *textbook* responses. :P

But anyway ... so yeah, bloody amazing. Great work:)

Review:
An excellent story. Good concept, well implemented. The plot works and the characterisation is decent.

However I do have a few of complaints:

I understand these two were done so the plot would flow as it did but they are still annoying.
Jack reacting ‘magic is impossible and you are crazy/lying’ is utterly out of character for someone who has spent years going through the Stargate. His reaction would have been ‘there is advanced/alien tech on earth that we missed’.

The ZPM being running off magic. While I have nothing wrong with the Ancients knowing magic (in fact I have more of a problem with the Asgard Not knowing about it) but having the ZPM drain magic from a world contradicts pretty much everything about them. Not merely the techno-babble but the canon of how they work. Particularly the 1) running for thousands of years 2) them working in space and 3) having dozens working at once.

On a less plot relevant note is Jack not taking a gun when he knew his son was in trouble. It would have been no problem to transport the thing, not for a US Air force Officer, and would have been far more effective against anything short of an actual god.

Really enjoyable read! Loved how Jack was able to fill in a hole in Xander's life. You really got all of the various modes of banter down, too. Great job! :)

Rather enjoyable story. Well-written throughout, but the last chapter was particularly enjoyable. I can just imagine that dog getting fawned over by dozens of slayers. :)

A perfect story. I especially admire how they both kept thir secrets. So often in fanfic it's just blurted out at the drop of a hat. The realationship had a wonderful buildup.

love the story, just re-reading because it's awesome! thought you'd like to know though that during an episode, in which the sgc has to work with a documentary crew, jack states that his favorite color is peridot, not blue. also, if he could have dinner with anyone in the world it would be mary steenburgen.

BRAVO! A fine ending to a really well done piece of fanfiction. The puppy thing was a nice touch...the choice of dog was cool too....a good match to Xander, quite literally.

That was hilarious! Thor giving Xander and autograph, and asking Xander for his?! AWESOME! The end of the chapter as well, I must say, was pretty nice.

I liked your way of explaining the magical drain as the power supply for the Ancient Control chair and drone in Antarctica.

The end of the chapter was really nice...it can be hard to have one character to play off the other like that when the other has no action or speech at all, but you pulled it off. It reveals a lot of what kind of man Xander really is more than anything else.

I can imagine how weird it must have been for Jack to go up against such a HUGE demon, or any enemy that big for that matter without some trusty explosives or a machine gun....gotta love that firepower! Though, for all the guns of the SG-verse, I could see a Zat'nik'atel (think I spelled that right...)or a Wraith Stunner coming in very handy against vamps or demons....
